Josh Bramos, Worship Pastor at City Rev Church

I’ve been a songwriter for the past 15 years. My dream is to encourage worship leaders to write for the local church — and Village Hymns was birthed from that idea.

I believe God desires worship leaders to write for his church. People publicly declare things with their mouths in front of God and man when they sing — when they do that, they’re accountable for their words. Teaching the truths of God’s Word through the songs we write is a great privilege we have as worship leaders and songwriters. In corporate worship, God writes His Gospel on the hearts of men and women in many ways.

I’ve been writing songs for the church for many years with the hope of heart and mind transformation for the Church. I write multiple times a week when my kids go to bed and believe songwriting is an important tool for God’s work in the church.

Adam Pizarro, Worship Pastor at First Baptist Church of Pompano Beach

I grew up as a pastor’s kid — and was basically raised in a pew. My earliest childhood memories were of my family of 8, singing in church together. My first glimpse of the Gospel was singing Nothing But the Blood of Jesus — church music has always held a special place in my heart.

Years ago, my friend Josh Bramos came to me with the vision of Village Hymns — a vision of local worship leaders and pastors writing for their local church. It wasn’t hard to connect Josh’s passion with the mission of pastors: to equip the Saints for the work of the ministry.

Village Hymns has been a catalyst for me in writing songs for the local church. The songs I’ve been able to write through Village Hymns have impacted not only my home church, but many, many more in our county.
